Investigation of Strength and Microstructural Characteristics of Blended Cement-Admixed Clay with Bottom Ash

This research presents an experimental study of the strength and microstructural characteristics cement-bottom ash-admixed Bangkok clay, paying special attention to efficiency adding up bottom ash (BA) different finesses as a cementitious material role played by BA in enhancing mixture. The obtained results were discussed with cemented clay mixed other industrial ashes (i.e., fly risk husk ash). pozzolanic reaction packing effect on development also tests mixtures insoluble material. was performed through unconfined compression (UC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests. demonstrate that could be advantageously supplemented into cement-admixed mixture improve characteristic. finer particle size beneficial for achieving high due effects. By content larger than 15% when base cement is not less 20%, increased efficiently increasing content. Compared similar grain size, higher greater considered. Finally, microstructure changes elemental composition/distribution analyzed TGA SEM explain mechanism cement–BA-admixed clay.
